Description
The Tangipahoa Parish Library is holding its 5th annual Tangi Library Free Book Festival on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Hammond Branch Library located at 314 East Thomas St., Hammond, LA 70401. Everyone who attends will receive a free book with a Chick-Fil-A bookmark that is also good for a free Icedream Cone, and have a chance to spin Ali’s Prize Wheel. There will be free hamburgers and hot dogs, vendor booths to visit, crafts for children, a planetarium, a photo booth area, and a pet adoption area.
“Our goal for the Tangi Library Free Book Festival is that everyone can have a great time, get free food, free information, a free library card, a free book and other goodies to take home without having to pay for a single thing,” says Library Director Barry Bradford. “It’s our way of highlighting the fact that public libraries are there for everyone without charge. Businesses and organizations are helped and have the opportunity to connect with the community.”
Tangipahoa Parish citizens pride themselves on their local festivals. The Tangi Library Free Book Festival provides a fun atmosphere for everyone’s enjoyment and has a variety of activities and vendors to interact with. From the Discovery Dome provided by the Louisiana Arts & Science Museum, to the craft table provided by Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center, to our local authors and international author, Paola Battaglia of Italy, there is no room for boredom at this festival.
