Dr. Loren C. Scott, Louisiana Economist and Professor Emeritus at Louisiana State University, will present his "Louisiana Economic Outlook" at the October luncheon, sponsored by Florida Parishes Bank. Pre-registered businesses will also receive a CD with the report. Scott's much anticipated report presents a regional perspective and serves as a useful tool for business leaders as they plan for the coming year.
Because Tangipahoa Parish, Hammond and Ponchatoula were named as the newest Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area in January, the region will be included in the economic outlook for the first time this year. The new metro area has been predicted for the last two years, and the region finally met the required thresholds at the start of 2015.
