It's time to board the Greater Hammond Chamber's Small Business Express!
For the second year in a row, the Greater Hammond Chamber is encouraging the community to shop local with 50 participating member retail stores for great gift ideas and a chance to win $2,500 in prize packages. The 24-day holiday shopping event kicks off on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24, and will run through Monday, Dec. 17.
Event cards can be purchased for $5 online, or in the Greater Hammond Chamber office beginning Friday, Nov. 16. Nine partnering nonprofit organizations are also selling and benefitting from the sale of the cards, and your choice can be indicated when purchasing online. Participating nonprofits are: Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing, Junior Auxiliary of Hammond, Krewe Da Cha Chas, Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center, Precious Souls Canine Rescue and Sanctuary, Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, Tangilena Long Term Recovery, Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum and The New Octavians.
A cardholder's chances to win prize packages are based on the number of businesses visited and purchases made. Visits are denoted with a single stamp, while purchases are denoted by a double stamp.
- Visit 20 stores and make purchases at 15 of them to be entered in the drawing for one (1) $500 package. *
- Visit 15 stores and make purchases at 10 of them to be entered in the drawing for one of three (3) $250 packages.*
- Visit 10 stores and make purchases at 5 of them to be entered in the drawing for one of ten (10) $100 packages.
- Visit 5 stores and make purchases at 1 of them to be entered in the drawing for one of five (5) prizes.
Look for participating member business videos on the Chamber Facebook page, Instagram and YouTube throughout the event.
